Reservations vs Quotes: Main Differences

In the realm of short-term rentals, it's essential to grasp the distinction between Reservations and Quotes to effectively manage bookings and payments. Below, we outline the key differences between Reservations and Quotes.

Getting Started

To create reservations or quotes you need to access your calendar on the left menu, select your unit, and create the event.

You will see both reservations and quotes in the Reservations section.

When to create a Reservation?

A Reservation should be created when the guest has made payment through an external method, such as cash, check, bank transfer, or any other offline means. If you got the payment, and you want to register the reservation, this option is the best one!

When to create a Quote?

The Quote should be created when you want to create a reservation that lacks payment. The guest will be presented with a quote and given the option to pay online via credit card to confirm the reservation. If you get the payment via any other offline means such as cash, check, or bank transfer, you will be able to mark the payment as paid and confirm the reservation.

Please, be advised that when using this option, the reservation will be created but it won't be confirmed until the guest finishes the payment.
