VRBO Minimum Requirements & Onboarding Checklist

This guide outlines all mandatory content, compliance requirements, and technical prerequisites for successfully listing and syncing properties with VRBO through Jurny.

✅ Minimum Content Requirements

Content Requirement
Photos Minimum 6 high-quality photos per listing
Headline Must be between 20–100 characters and accurately reflect the property
Bedroom and Bathroom At least 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom required
Description Must be 400–1,000 characters, well-written, and informative
Address Must include an accurate full address and latitude/longitude coordinates
Calendar Must be actively updated with availability and pricing
Rates and Fees Must use one of the following currencies: USD, CAD, EUR, or GBP
Currency Only one currency may be used across quotes, bookings, and fees
Property Details Include maximum occupancy, property name, and property type
Cancellation Policies Must be set to a valid VRBO standard: Relaxed, Moderate, Firm, Strict, No Refund, or a Custom policy
EMEA (EU + UK) Must operate as a Private or Public Limited Company with a valid VAT or Company Registration Number
Quebec Region A valid VAT or Registration Number is required

🧾 Compliance & Operational Requirements

1. Tax Remittance

  • VRBO does not remit taxes on your behalf.

  • Property owners/managers are fully responsible for calculating, collecting, and remitting taxes to the relevant tax authorities.

2. Rental Agreement (PDF Required)

  • A Rental Contract PDF is mandatory for initial integration with VRBO.

  • This document will be used to validate your property terms during onboarding.

3. Merchant Account Connection

  • A connected payment processor (e.g., Stripe) is required for payment collection.

  • Ensure the account is active and verified before integration.

4. Pricing Configuration

  • Pricing must be fully configured on Jurny before integration.

  • If using a dynamic pricing tool such as Wheelhouse, your pricing strategy must be already active.

  • Once integrated, VRBO will synchronize pricing data directly from Jurny

5. Reservation Mapping (If Applicable)

  • If you have active or upcoming reservations, these must be imported and mapped.

  • Contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) to get the:

    • Reservation mapping spreadsheet

    • Step-by-step instructions

    • If there are no current reservations, this step can be skipped.
