Changeover is a powerful tool for short-term rental hosts to manage check-ins, check-outs, or both on specific dates. Whether you're facing unexpected maintenance, lack a housekeeping team on-site, or simply want to limit check-ins.
Getting Started
To create a Changeover, you need to access the Calendar section on the left menu > Select a Property from the filters, select the unit, and click on a calendar date.
Please, be advised that to see the changeover icon, you need to choose the property and the unit as mentioned previously.
Setting a Changeover
Once you've selected the option, a pop-up window will appear.
In the Changeover menu, you can specify whether you want to limit check-ins, check-outs, or both on the selected date.
Toggle the options according to your preferences. For example, if you need to block check-ins due to maintenance, select the appropriate option.
Managing Consecutive and Non-Consecutive Dates
If you require the same changeover settings for consecutive days, simply select the dates on the calendar and apply the Changeover settings accordingly.
For non-consecutive dates, please, be advised that you'll need to manually add Changeover settings for each preferred date.
Best Practices
Plan Ahead: Anticipate busy periods, maintenance schedules, or any other circumstances that may require Changeover adjustments.
Communicate with Guests: If your Changeover settings impact guests' plans, communicate any restrictions or changes promptly to avoid inconvenience.
Quick Example
Imagine you're a host with a beachfront property. You've scheduled maintenance for the swimming pool area on February 20th. To prevent guests from checking in on that day, you set up a Changeover:
- Access your property's calendar.
- Select February 20th and open the options menu.
- Choose "Set a Changeover" and specify that check-ins are blocked for that date.
- Confirm the Changeover settings and some text will appear on February 20th to indicate the restriction.
By utilizing Changeover effectively, you can seamlessly manage your short-term rental operations and ensure a smooth experience for both yourself and your guests.
