Connecting to VRBO
The connection with VRBO requires a VRBO account created. If you don't have an active account yet, please, create one here. If you already have an account, please, go to the Distribution section on the left menu (or click here).

In the Distribution section, open the distribution account created.
- Select VRBO.
If you haven't created your Distribution account and pushed your listings to your Distribution account, please, follow this step-by-step guide before proceeding.
- Before proceeding, carefully read and understand the terms to ensure a smooth connection experience.
- Choose the currency for properties going live on VRBO – only specific currencies are supported for live listings. Click "Save & Next" to proceed.
- You will see a step where we will ask during the process to set a markup for rates to cover transaction fees or OTA commissions. This additional percentage is added to the nightly rate and it won't be visible to your guests. Setting up a markup is optional.

Cancellation Policy:
- Tailor the cancellation policy to your preference by selecting one of the three options. Each option offers a dropdown menu for further customization, ensuring flexibility.

Prepayment Setup:
- Opt for the "No Deposit" option at this stage. The payment schedule for VRBO will be finalized in subsequent steps, providing more control over your payment processes.

Minimum Guest Age:
- Set the minimum age requirement for your property. This helps ensure your property aligns with the preferences of your target audience.
Property Connection to VRBO:
- Connect the properties you wish to showcase on VRBO from your Jurny account.
- Note: This step doesn't automatically make your properties live on VRBO. However, this pushes your listings to the Distribution account, which is a must to go live on VRBO.
Channel Settings:
- Access channel settings to establish a custom payment schedule. Here, our professional suggestion is to opt for 100% of the total price to be paid upon booking. This helps prevent payment-related complications and provides a straightforward payment structure for guests.
Property Publishing on VRBO:
- Return to property settings and initiate the publishing process for your property.
- Important: Keep in mind that this won't publish your property on VRBO until an onboarding specialist from VRBO is involved in the final steps.
Self-Onboarding on VRBO:
- Open your VRBO account in a separate tab within the same browser.
- Open the following link https://www.vrbo.com/p/onboard to initiate the self-onboarding process.

Complete Account Information as prompted.

Specify the number of units you intend to add to VRBO.

For the software, search for Rentals United.

Use the specified ID for the software under the VRBO connection.

Accept the terms and conditions and click continue.

Provide your credit card information. VRBO requires this information for their fees.
You can find the Account Email (Specified ID) under the Distribution account - Edit channels - VRBO.
Important Note: Connecting to a Property Management System (PMS) prompts VRBO to request a payment processor, making this step crucial in the onboarding process.
You will receive an email from a VRBO onboarding specialist and you need to reply with a positive response, this email can take up to 3 to 15 working days based on the number of units, they will ask for the payment processor, and you can tell them that you are using Stripe, and CC our Jurny team on the email. The onboarding rep will share the proper emails and your Jurny onboarding representative will complete the integration with the VRBO onboarding specialist.
After Integration Completion
- Once the VRBO integration is completed, all new bookings will automatically sync with your Jurny calendar.
Please, be advised that once you connect VRBO to Jurny, you will remit your taxes. And the commission plan will be automatically changed to 5% - Pay Per Booking.
All bookings that are booked before the integration is completed will not automatically sync to your Jurny calendar. To add these reservations to your Jurny account, you can request this from your Onboarding Representative.
