How to Connect to Google Vacation Rentals
This guide explains how Property Managers connect listings to Google Vacation Rentals through Jurny, what setup is required per unit, how Google reviews listings, and how bookings flow back into MOS. It also covers sync behavior, requirements, and common setup issues.
Overview: How Google Vacation Rentals Works
Google Vacation Rentals helps travelers discover your properties across:
- Google Search
- Google Maps
- Google Travel
Here's how everything stays connected:
Source of Truth: Jurny PMS
Jurny is where your reservations are created and managed.
Whenever changes are made, Jurny automatically pushes:
- Availability
- Nightly rates
- Fees & taxes
Google independently pulls your listing content (photos, descriptions, amenities, etc.) through an XML feed on its own schedule.
Note
Once your listing is live, Jurny continuously keeps pricing and availability updated automatically.
Before You Start
Before connecting a property to Google, make sure every unit includes:
- ✅ At least 5 photos
- ✅ Full property address
- ✅ Map coordinates (latitude & longitude)
- ✅ Country code
- ✅ Complete property description
- ✅ Bedroom count
- ✅ Bathroom count
- ✅ Check-in time
- ✅ Check-out time
- ✅ An active rate plan
Caution
If a property has fewer than 5 photos, is missing its country code, or doesn't include map coordinates, Google will silently reject the listing. No visible error will appear inside Jurny.
Step 1: Add the Google Vacation Rentals Channel
- Navigate to Distribution Accounts
- Click Add New
- Select Add Google Vacation Rental
- Give the account a name
- Click Connect Google Vacation Rental
Note
Jurny automatically creates the Google partner connection behind the scenes.
No API keys, credentials, or Google integrations are required.
Step 2: Connect Each Unit
Each property must be connected individually.
- Open a listing.
- Navigate to the Distribution tab.
- Click Add a Distribution Account.
- Select your Google Vacation Rentals account.
- Click Connect.
Step 3: Complete Your Listing & Publish
Before publishing, verify that your listing is complete.
Google requires:
- At least 5 photos
- Full address
- Coordinates
- Country code
- Complete description
- Bedroom count
- Bathroom count
- Check-in time
- Check-out time
Once everything is complete:
- Open the listing.
- Click Publish Unit.
Caution
An unpublished unit is sent to Google as Unavailable.
Listings with missing photos or location information simply won't appear on Google.
Step 4: Configure Fees & Taxes
Google handles fees separately from your internal pricing.
For every fee and tax:
- Open Rental Rates.
- Enable Push this fee to Google Vacation Rental.
- Select the Google pricing basis:
- Per Night
- Per Stay
- Per Person
- Percentage of Rent
- Enter the Google-specific amount.
Caution
Every fee requires its own Google configuration.
If a fee isn't mapped, it won't appear on Google, which can lead to pricing discrepancies.
Step 5: Publish & Monitor Sync Status
After publishing, Jurny automatically keeps Google updated.
Open the unit's Google card under Distribution to monitor:
- Listing
- Availability
- Pricing
Each displays either:
- Synchronized
- Not Synchronized
Additional actions include:
- Force Push to Channel — Immediately sends updates without waiting for the next sync cycle.
- Disconnect — Removes the unit's connection to Google.
Google Review Process & Timeline
Initial Account Activation
After Jurny activates your Google connection and the first successful sync completes, Google begins reviewing your account.
Initial activation typically takes up to 6 hours before properties become eligible to appear in Google Search.
Important
This activation timeline begins only after Jurny completes the Google partner setup.
Google Listing Review
Once Google receives your property information, each listing goes through a quality review.
This process can take up to 2 weeks.
During this period, listings may not appear publicly.
This review only happens during the initial approval.
After Approval
Once approved, your property becomes eligible to appear across:
- Google Search
- Google Maps
- Google Travel
Travelers can discover your listing with live pricing and availability directly from Google's travel experiences.
How Bookings Work
After approval, the guest journey looks like this:
- A traveler finds your listing on Google.
- They choose their dates and number of guests.
- Google sends them to your Jurny property landing page.
- The guest receives a live quote including:
- Nightly rate
- Fees
- Taxes
- The reservation is completed.
- The booking is created in MOS with Reservation Source = Google.
- Jurny immediately updates Google availability to prevent double bookings.

Troubleshooting & Common Issues
My listing isn't appearing
Most commonly caused by:
- Fewer than 5 photos
- Missing country code
- Missing map coordinates
Note
Google silently drops these listings without displaying an error.
Pricing changes aren't showing yet
Google typically refreshes pricing within 30–45 minutes after updates.
This delay is expected.
No pricing appears on Google
Possible causes:
- No active rate plan
- Nightly rates are zero or below
Verify your rate plan and pricing.
Fees aren't appearing
Confirm that every fee:
- Has Push to Google enabled
- Has its own Google amount
- Uses the correct Google pricing basis
My property still isn't visible
Remember there are two separate timelines:
- Account activation: up to 6 hours
- Initial Google listing review: up to 2 weeks
Both occur on Google's side and are normal.
I made changes but don't see them yet
Most updates sync within 5 minutes.
For urgent changes, use Force Push to Channel from the Google card.
