How to configure Chekin for guest registration

The Chekin + Jurny integration allows property managers to automate guest check-in, ID verification, and compliance with local regulations.

Chekin + Jurny — what it is & why it matters

Chekin is a digital check‑in and guest‑management platform that automates guest registration, ID verification, compliance with local regulations, and streamlines check‑in (remote, contactless or online). It is especially useful as it integrates with various official institutions to comply with legal regulations (police, stats, invoicing).

Jurny supports a native integration with Chekin: this means you can use Chekin’s check‑in and compliance tools directly within your Jurny workflow — without needing separate, disconnected systems.

Key benefits for property managers

  • Automated guest check‑in and identity verification — Chekin handles ID/document upload, digital signing of contracts or guest registration forms, and compliance paperwork.

  • Compliance with local laws & regulations — Chekin supports generation of required guest registration forms and (when relevant) reporting to authorities.

  • Less manual work — more efficiency: reduces paperwork, saves time, decreases risk of errors.

In short: Chekin + Jurny helps you streamline guest onboarding, stay compliant, and deliver smooth guest experiences — with far less manual effort.

How to activate and set up Chekin within Jurny

Here’s how to get started using Chekin with your Jurny account:

  1. Enable Chekin in your Jurny account

    • From your Jurny Dashboard, navigate to Screening Software and locate the Chekin section.

    • Enter your Chekin account credentials and make sure to enable the option for Police Registrations.

    • The Statistic Registration option must remain disabled at all times.

    • Once your account is connected, a new menu item — Chekin Console — will appear under the Screening Software section.

    • If you already have an existing Chekin account, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager before proceeding.

  2. Configure Chekin settings for your properties
Within the Chekin tab, set up the aspects you need for each property:

    • Guest registration forms, including all required fields (ID, stay dates, number of guests, etc.)

    • Options like digital signature for contracts / rental agreements (if relevant)

  3. Communicate with guests

    • Once Chekin is enabled and configured, each new reservation should trigger Chekin’s check‑in workflow.

    • Guests receive a link to complete online registration: upload ID, sign agreement/terms. All guests of a reservation must fill out the forms for compliance. Underage children will only be required name and date of birth and relationship of the accompanying adults.

  4. Confirm compliance & store records

    • Chekin will store guest data securely, generate any required official registration forms (e.g. for authorities), and handle internal record‑keeping, reducing your manual burden.

How to set up your credentials and ensure the Police authorities connection will work correctly:

Spain

For Property managers located in Spain, there are 3 police authorities connections available, depending on the region where the properties are located:

SES Hospedajes (most of Spain)
Mossos (Cataluña)

Ertzaintza (Basque Country)

Credentials Needed

Each property must have:

  • Username (ends in WS)
  • Password (provided by the police authority via email)
  • Establishment Code (unique per property)
  • Lessor Code (Código de Arrendatario)

Warning: Missing or invalid credentials will block data submission.

Warning: The username and password are different from the ones you use to log into Ses Hospedajes and can be found under the “Credenciales” section.

Property Setup Rules

  • Same credentials can be reused only if the properties are under one account.
  • Each property = unique establishment code (even if under one host account).

Caution: Using the same code for multiple properties will result in rejection by authorities.

Caution: Ses Hospedajes does not notify users when credentials expire. Set reminders to refresh credentials every 6–7 months. Expired credentials are one of the most common reasons for error.

Best practices & next steps

  • Use Chekin + Jurny together to reduce manual admin, speed up check‑in, and stay compliant.

  • When onboarding new properties, configure Chekin settings individually per property — set up registration forms and contract/terms if needed.

  • Communicate clearly with guests: send check‑in instructions as soon as booking is confirmed; emphasize importance of completing registration before arrival.

  • Regularly review your guest records and compliance paperwork to ensure everything is in order (especially useful if local regulations require registration submission).
