What is an Airbnb Alteration Request?
An Airbnb alteration request allows hosts and guests to modify an existing reservation. This can include changing check-in/check-out dates, adjusting the number of guests, or updating the total price of the stay.
When to Use an Alteration Request or a Special Offer
- Send an alteration request when you need to modify an upcoming reservation.
- Send a special offer when negotiating new terms with a guest or making adjustments for guests already staying at the property.
Note: You can only send an alteration request for upcoming arrivals. For current guests, only a special offer can be sent.
How to Send an Alteration Request in Jurny
1. Go to the Inbox – Navigate to the Inbox section in Jurny.
2. Find the Guest’s Message – Search for the conversation with the guest whose reservation you want to modify.
3. Click on the Three Dots – At the top right corner of the screen, next to the unit name, click the three-dot menu.
4. Choose an Option:
• Select “Change Reservation” to send an alteration request.
• Select “Send Special Offer” if the guest is already checked in.
5. Modify the Reservation:
• Adjust check-in and check-out dates (only if those dates are available).
• Update the number of guests, children, or pets.
• Customize the total guest charges for the stay.
6. Submit the Request – Once all changes are made, confirm and send the alteration request to the guest.
